About me:

25 random facts about me, in no particular order (why? because I love random and I’ve found that people actually read my bio...and it was too boring before)

I LOVE my smart phone – current version is the iPhone. It’s stupid how much time I spend on it. Sometimes I long for the days before I even had a cellphone (3.5 years ago, to be exact), but then I remember that I would get DTs if I tried to detox.

I have an amazing husband – he works really hard. Really hard. He is the most sacrificial person I know. The only problem with him is that he doesn’t think I’m that funny. Sometimes I have to tell him to laugh at my jokes.

My kids are the best kids EVER. They are funny; they are all different in amazing ways. They think I’m amazing and I think they are more amazing because of it.

I love Jesus. Because He loved me first. And died for me. And more.

I love to read but I never do. Mostly because I always have too much on my plate, but partly because of my smart phone.

I love to play board games and card games. I’m phenomenal Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride and Spades.

I LOVE pasta. I could eat it three meals a day for years and never get sick of it.

I do love dark chocolate, but I also love sour candy: Chewy Sprees, SweetTarts, Sour Patch Kids, Nerds. I know I should have grown out of it, but I’m 35 right now, so I don’t think it’s going to happen.

I was homeschooled and I homeschool my kids. I do it because I can’t imagine not doing it. And for lots of other reasons.  Yes, I do worry that they won’t be properly socialized.

My husband is in the military; so was I. That’s how we met.

I’ve been married 15 years and, yes, I am old enough. My parents DID NOT have to sign a paper to allow me to get married.

I’m the second of ten children.  I’ve been a mother for a VERY long time.

I love dry red wine. I think it goes well with almost every entrée.

I rarely traveled as a child, and traveling meant going to the coast and renting a beach house. I’m trying to make up for lost time now.

I was born in Michigan and raised in Bend, Oregon. Phil and I lived in Washington State for seven years. I love the Pacific Northwest. I think it will always be home to me.

I have not had any formal photography training. Not paying student loans makes me thankful about that.  I bought my first digital SLR in 2005 and did my first paid job in 2006.  I really wasn’t very good and didn’t deserve to be paid.

I have an amazing ability to remember lines from movies. My sisters and I like to quote them to each other via text or Facebook. We try to outdo each other and I’m not averse to doing web searches so I can beat them.

I love babies. Always have; always will. My kids love babies, too. They beg me almost every day for another one.

I HATE exercise, but I wish I loved it. My thighs wish I loved it.

My favorite place in the world is Cannon Beach, Oregon. You should go there. I can recommend a fantastic picnic spot where fresh water runs down the beach into the ocean. It’s divine.

I love mountains. I didn’t appreciate them enough until I couldn’t see them every day.

I love music. My tastes are pretty varied and I can’t nail down a style, but I can tell you when I like it. I’m currently listening to Adele.

Phil and I rarely agree about music. He’s nine years older than me and, apparently, that makes a difference. Every once in a while we like the same song, but mostly we mock each other’s choices. I’m sorry to say that he appears to have influenced our children’s tastes more than I have. My oldest recently told me she hates jazz. She loves John Denver.

I have a lot to say and am pretty opinionated, but I’ll admit that most of my tweets and Facebook statuses are about my kids. They are just more interesting and funny than I am.

I love my work. Love it. Not every day, I’ll admit, but almost every day. I love it when my clients really talk to me, friend me, email me bios about themselves and photos of themselves before we meet and I love that every time I go out, I can count on seeing at least one of them.
