I prefer to photograph newborns when they are about a week old while they are still bendy and very sleepy. It is best to book this session while you are still pregnant, preferrably several months in advance, as I book only two newborn sessions each month.  I book your due date and then you will notify me as soon as baby makes its arrival so I can find a slot for you in my schedule.
